The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reports that an estimated 185,000 Australian homes experienced a break-in from 2022-23, 194,700 experienced an attempted break-in, and 54,700 households had a motor vehicle stolen.

Many of these could have been prevented with simple strategies and low-cost home security measures.
